Our Services

New Construction

We provide complete turnkey project delivery. This usually starts with carefully situating your home on the building site. Solar orientation, views, and elevations are factored into this essential first step. We build a story pole to help you visualize the relative heights of walkways, stairs, retaining walls, etc. As we are pouring concrete and raising walls, we will also be guiding you through the process of product selection, while also providing a continuously updated schedule. Flexibility is important to us, meaning that you will never be stuck with something you don’t feel comfortable with. We will be your construction concierge until the last door handle is adjusted to click closed and operate smoothly.

Remodels / Additions

Whether Kitchen, Bath, Room Addition, or other, we approach a remodel knowing that we will be GUESTS IN YOUR HOME. Our first step is to get to know your family and routine, so that we can devise a strategy for isolating the work zone. Ideally there will be a location where we can set up temporary plastic dust barrier walls while still providing easy access to the rest of the home. You will be provided with a written work schedule and notified of any updates or changes. Our employees and subcontractors know that a remodel is not just another job site. Smoking, swearing, loud radios, and littering are always unacceptable on our jobs, especially a remodel.

ADA Compliance

We complete small-scale ADA compliance jobs on a limited basis. Please contact us for more details.

Sam Marsico

Sam Marsico

Owner/Builder
Sam is a Grass Valley native. He attended Bear River High School and received a bachelor of science in biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. After graduating he fell back in love with homebuilding while working in Truckee’s Lahontan development. Then he moved to Marin County and worked for his uncle’s remodeling firm as a bilingual foreman. The traffic and cost of living in the bay area made him realize how great his hometown is, so he returned to work for his father, local general contractor Sam Marsico Sr. He obtained his contractors’ license in 2004 and began building high-end homes and remodels that were usually overflow leads from his father’s business. Sam is an NCCA Certified Green Building professional. He lives in Alta Sierra with his wife and four children.

OUR PROMISE

Quality craftsmanship needs to happen at all levels of a home’s construction. The depth and width of the foundations’ footings are never seen in the finished product, but they matter as much as the corner joint in the crown molding. Perhaps more importantly, the quality of the foundation and frame ensure that the finish joinery will stay where the carpenters put it. At Marsico Custom Homes we take just as much pride in the work that won’t be seen as we do in the work that shows.
